Effective Use of Generative AI for Senior Executives and Managers

ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Gemini Notebook, each put to work on a management task. Every session ends with something you keep: a value map, a difficult reply, a board paper, a notebook, a checklist and a roadmap.

No technical background needed

The one rule behind everything: the AI may draft, summarise, structure and rehearse. It may never decide what is true, what is confidential, or what goes out under your signature. If you sign it, you own it.

Produce papers

Produce executive briefs, board papers and management presentations.

04

Build a knowledge base

Build a shared divisional knowledge base using Gemini Notebook.

Before you start

Activity · 10 min

Where is AI already in your unit?

  1. 1Who on your team already uses AI tools, with or without telling you?
  2. 2Which work eats most of your week: reports, correspondence, meetings or data?
  3. 3What has gone wrong, or nearly gone wrong, with something an AI produced?
  4. 4What would you never hand to an AI?

Discuss at your table for five minutes. Be ready to share one answer with the room. Keep the last answer: most of those items will reappear in the governance section.

The line-up

Four tools, four jobs today

Most of today's tasks work in any of the chat assistants. The pairing shows each tool where it is strongest. Features and terms change often.

The six sections

Work through them in order. Each builds on the habits of the one before.

Module 1

ChatGPT: Briefing an AI and Asking Questions of Data

Briefing an AI the way you brief an officer, questioning a spreadsheet, and mapping where AI is worth using.

Module 2

Gemini: Replies, Research and Reusable Assistants

Sensitive replies in two tones, Deep Research you can check, and a Gem that holds your house style.

Module 3

Claude: Long Reports, Hard Questions and Board Papers

Interrogating a 40-page report, stress-testing a proposal, and drafting a board paper you can defend.

Module 4

Gemini Notebook: A Knowledge Base for Your Division

A notebook that answers only from your own documents, with a citation behind every claim.

Module 5

Governance, Risk and Accountability

PDPA duties, what may and may not go into an AI tool, and a divisional AI use checklist.

Wrap-up

Your 90-Day Adoption Roadmap

Turn the day into a plan: people, skills and early wins over the next three months.
